Nurse

cTreatment was created with a better and faster recovery in mind as well as the well being of the patient. Because of the attention given to the reduction of swelling and pain and a shorter, safer recovery time, nurses greatly benefit from using cTreatment in their patient's treatment as well.

Extensive in-house R&D began in 2004 focusing on the cause of swelling and pain; from this Waegener developed medical treatments based on local, computer controlled energy exchange with the human body, developed to limit the negative effects of the body’s natural recovery. Waegener cTreatments allow for continuous extraction of excess energy in a controlled and safe way, reducing the inflammatory reaction to the optimal level.

Patient and trauma specific, these standardized, reproducible treatments for patient rehabilitation are safe, reliable and user friendly. Applying cTreatment on a regular base ensures that patients have less pain, need less pain medication, have less swelling, are more mobile, recover much faster,... In other words, cTreatments ensures satisfied patients.

Implementing cTreatment in the daily routine of the hospital ensures that there can be cooled long enough without causing troubles to the other activities of the nurse.

Clinical experience using cTreatments has shown a number of wide ranging benefits for the medical professional:

Nurse specific benefits

Better rehabilitation outcome

cTreatment limits the negative effects of the inflammatory response of the body. This results in less pain and less swelling after tissue trauma in surgery. Due to less swelling and less pain the patient is able to start the full scale of rehabilitation much sooner, which of course results in a better and faster rehabilitation.

  • Early start of rehabilitation because of less swelling and pain
  • Increased effects of rehabilitation program
  • Rapid and effective rehabilitation

Easy to implement in the hospital routine

The fact that cooling only results in a positive outcome when the duration of the treatment is long enough and at precise thresholds and when the treatment is indication, phase of rehabilitation and patient specific, leads automatically to computer controlled treatments to make the platform user and labor friendly. Ice applications of course are not precise enough and would – when used for long treatment times – mean additional manpower.

The cServer is easy to use; selecting the indication specific cTreatment is done by some simple touches at the screen and only has to be done the first time the single patient cPad is put on the injured body part. From then on, the cPad recognizes the phase of rehabilitation of the patient and it’s only a question of one or two touches on the screen.

You as nurse, together with the surgeon and the physiotherapist, decide where you implement cTreatment in your daily routine and you always can add cTreatment pain management when the patient complains about pain.

The anatomical cPad is easy to fix around the injured body part. The body part specific cPads guarantee an optimal energy exchange. The cPad only has to be taken off the patient at the end of the cTreatment session. When the patient wants to pause cTreatment because of a short walk or a toilet stop, the cPad can stay at the body part.

Once the cTreatment is selected and the cPad is fixed, there is no need for control as the computer controls the whole cProtocol you selected. In the system – although the cServer is very stable – an error message is built in which provides optimal safety without extra control of the nurse. So although effective cooling needs long periods of energy exchange, you as nurse don’t need to control the cTreatment and can spend full attention to the nursing of other patients.

The cServer has a very low need for maintenance. When you respect all the time the eject procedure, you will have little to no technical problems at all.

  • Pre-installed indication specific treatments
  • Selecting the indication specific cTreatment is only done the first time a patient gets his single patient cPad
  • Running cTreatment is done by some simple touches on the screen
  • cTreatment doesn’t need control of the nurse during the whole period of treatment
  • Implementable in your hospital routine the way you prefer
  • User and labor friendly

Hygienic and safe

cPads are single patient use, anti allergic and latex free.

The liquid used by the system prevents microbial growth and safety limits are always respected by the device.

The cServer is built with a closed liquid loop which is obviously very important for hygienic reasons.

These elements are of course vital in a hospital setting.

  • Single patient
  • Closed liquid loop
  • Reduction of need for analgesics
  • Less risk of post-op complications
  • No frostbite, nerve palsy or delayed wound healing
  • Less or no rebound effect of the skin, due to progressive and controlled tissue temperature drop
  • Reliable support of surgery outcome and nursing care

High patient satisfaction

Less swelling, less pain, good sleep, peaceful nights, faster mobility, better rehabilitation outcome,  … are of course very important elements to have satisfied patients. This is of course what each nurse is aiming for.

  • High patient comfort because of less pain without (too much) pain medication
  • Early start of the more intense rehab program
  • Faster mobility
  • Peaceful sleep, optimal nights
  • Very low level of noise pollution
  • Shorter hospital stay
  • The patient experiences high commitment
  • Increased patient trust
